DESCRIPTION
This monthly education lecture series will involve formal presentations in the areas of practice, research, and policy relevant to the social work profession. Social workers are a crucial member of the interdisciplinary team to bridge the patient and medical team through identifying barriers, providing therapeutic intervention, counseling, identifying resources, and provide information and psychosocial support to promote health and well-being for the patient and their families. This education series will provide continued education to increased knowledge and skills necessary to provide the highest quality of care to patients.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review current and updated information on social work policy, procedure, and intervention to maintain compliance with governing boards and accrediting boards.
- Identify current psychosocial practices to implement best practice for current roles.
- Provide relevant training for medical social work to increase competency.
