Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the spectrum of domestic and sexual violence (DSV) and the legal pathways for patients.
  • Summarize the legal obligations of clinicians and Mayo Clinic policies related to DSV/DV/IPV enterprise wide.
  • Determine best practices for screening and assessing for domestic violence and intimate partner violence in medical settings.
  • Analyze the effects on patient-survivors of DSV who are navigating the medical system.
  • Reflect on the abilities and limitations of clinicians in the medical setting when working with survivors and their families.
