Bio:

Dr.  Edwin is a consultant at the Center for Palliative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.    He completed his medical school training at McGill University in Montreal followed by a residency in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.   The following year, Dr. Edwin worked as the chief resident in internal medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.  He joined the staff at Mayo in 1996 and had worked as a hospitalist until 2005 when he joined a Dr. Tom Fitch in the development of the Center for Palliative Medicine.     He now works full-time within palliative medicine.    He is the founding chair for the Center for Humanities in Medicine as well as the founding chair for the Ethics Consultation Service at Mayo.    He served as the program director for the palliative medicine fellowship program from 2009-2021.   He currently serves as the chair for the division of palliative medicine. 

On a personal level, Dr. Edwin is father of two young adults, both of whom are interested in pursuing careers in the field of medicine and are rapidly depleting his savings as they attend college.

  • Demonstrate the pharmacology of cannabinoids
  • Cite the results of various studies for symptom control
  • Recognize risks associated with cannabis use.
