Target Audience

This course is relevant for infectious diseases specialists, infectious diseases trainees, internists, pharmacists, hospitalists, and clinical infectious diseases researchers. Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases including avian influenza and measles
  • Describe updated tuberculosis treatment regimens
  • Define key prevention and management strategies for infections in immunosuppressed transplant patients
  • Differentiate the appropriate use of oral antibiotics for serious infectious disease syndromes
  • Identify evidence-based strategies to prevent and manage hospital-acquired conditions
