This interactive course provides practical updates on common topics and challenges faced with infectious diseases and key information on the application of new developments in the field. Information is delivered by subject matter experts using case-based presentations and in-depth discussions including question and answer sessions geared to increase knowledge, performance, and patient outcomes. Attendees leave with up-to-date, practical information that can be applied immediately to their clinical practice.

Target Audience
This course is relevant for infectious diseases specialists, infectious diseases trainees, internists, pharmacists, hospitalists, and clinical infectious diseases researchers. The content also benefits physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, family physicians and clinical microbiologists with interest in managing patients with infections.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases including avian influenza and measles
- Describe updated tuberculosis treatment regimens
- Define key prevention and management strategies for infections in immunosuppressed transplant patients
- Differentiate the appropriate use of oral antibiotics for serious infectious disease syndromes
- Identify evidence-based strategies to prevent and manage hospital-acquired conditions

Parking
Current parking rates are $25.00 per day Inclusive for Self-Parking and $40.00 per day Inclusive for Valet parking. All charges will be posted to the guest room folio upon checkout. Rates are subject to change.

This activity is designated for 23.75 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
IPCE
This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 23.75 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 23.75 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
American Board of Surgery (ABS)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME and Self-Assessment requirements of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program.
