Title: Overview of Cardiac Catheterization

Learning Objectives - Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Analyze indications, contraindications, and complications for both right and left heart catheterizations
• Demonstrate proper patient preparation for a cardiac catheterization
• Define conditions that make catheterizations higher risk
• Review Arterial and Venous Access complications.
• Differentiate coronary anatomy on angiogram and examine hemodynamic data derived from RHC
• Analyze landmark RCTs in interventional cardiology including COURAGE, ISCHEMIA, FAME2, FREEDOM
