Title: Overview of Cardiac Catheterization
Learning Objectives - Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Analyze indications, contraindications, and complications for both right and left heart catheterizations
- Demonstrate proper patient preparation for a cardiac catheterization
- Define conditions that make catheterizations higher risk
- Review Arterial and Venous Access complications.
- Differentiate coronary anatomy on angiogram and examine hemodynamic data derived from RHC
- Analyze landmark RCTs in interventional cardiology including COURAGE, ISCHEMIA, FAME2, FREEDOM
