PRESENTERS BIO

Dr. Ayrn O’Connor, has Extensive clinical experience providing bedside care as a medical toxicologist for both an adult and pediatric tertiary care academic medical center. Medical Toxicology is an ABMS-certified subspecialty with expertise in managing the care of patients with adverse health effects from prescription and over-the-counter medications, drugs of abuse, and other toxic exposures requiring a broad understanding of pathophysiology, pharmacology and causation.
She seeks to use her leadership skills, clinical experience, and subspecialty knowledge to advance the clinical application of pharmacogenomics and apply her expertise in adverse drug effects to inform the development of safer, innovative products and pharmaceuticals, thus improving the lives and healthcare outcomes of a larger population.
Dr. O’Connor has experience leading and supporting diverse, multi-disciplinary teams and serving in key leadership positions for various institutional committees and national and state organizations. She has expertise in developing and delivering educational content with the ability to target diverse audiences. Skilled in facilitating deeper understanding, open discussions, and debate among key stakeholders to support critical decision making.

Her areas of interest include pharmacogenetics, medication safety and pharmacovigilance, improving healthcare delivery and public health, forensic toxicology, promoting gender equality.
