DESCRIPTION
Cancer Center Grand Rounds are held weekly on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. for faculty and junior faculty, investigators and junior investigators, scholars, graduate students, medical students, research fellows, administration and allied health staff.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Internal Mayo physicians (including hematologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists) mid level providers, pharmacists, and nurses. Trainees in each of these areas are also encouraged to attend and participate.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Provide an update in key clinical areas of hematology, oncology, palliative care, surgical oncology and radiation oncology.
- Present cases pertinent to hematology-oncology that provide insight into challenging diagnosis and therapy.
- Discuss research efforts occurring in the cancer center (both internal and external).
- Identify the importance of early referral to palliative care.
