The Medical Breast Training Program will provide clinicians tools and knowledge to evaluate and manage common breast complaints, to perform personalized risk assessment and risk management and to care for breast cancer survivors. The goal is to educate practitioners in the field about guidelines for screening and diagnosis, risk reduction, genetics, and survivorship.  The Advanced Topics curriculum goes beyond the basics of screening and diagnosis to help providers confidently identify and manage those at risk and effectively care for survivors. Topics include benign and malignant breast lesions; bone health; sexuality; integrative medicine; hormones; legal issues; and much more. The course incorporates both pre-recorded lectures and interactive case discussion sessions.

This online course offers a variety of health issues that are unique to women and/or highlight medical conditions that may cause different symptoms in women or affect women differently than men and thus, may require different treatment or prevention protocols. Treatment updates include common breast symptoms, breast reconstruction, common medical concerns in many women such as UTIs, diverticulitis, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, updates regarding COVID-19 and monkeypox infections. Other topics include menopause and mood along with premature menopause, androgens in women, and troubleshooting hormone therapy. In addition, several topics on sexual health including female sexual physiology, causes and management of sexual difficulties. Many other topics discussing cosmetic concerns, sports injuries, weight management, and regenerative medicine will be explored.

Highlights include, genetics and high-risk management, breast imaging modalities, supplemental screening options for dense breasts, and more.

This three-day conference (live/livestream format) addresses women’s health issues. The selected topics are clinically relevant and aimed at physicians and advanced practice providers. Breast health, menopause, sexual health and longevity will be included. Conference sessions are led by subject matter experts, many from Mayo faculty, with case-based presentations, practice pearls, and interactive Q & A sessions. Optional small group discussions address challenging topics. Menopause 101 is an optional preconference experience in collaboration with The Menopause Society (separate registration). The Women's Health Update is a must attend conference for healthcare professionals who provide care to women.
