DESCRIPTION
Sleep Case Conference (Weekly): A highly interactive clinical case conference featuring one or more challenging or interesting cases, lasting 30-45 minutes.
Sleep Rounds (Monthly): A didactic conference involving a wide range of contemporary topics of interest in current sleep medicine practice. The conference is held monthly, lasting 45-60 minutes in duration.
Sleep Teleconference (Monthly): A didactic case presentation and related topical/literature review covering selected topics in clinical sleep medicine, broadcast to all three Mayo campuses in Rochester, Florida, and Arizona, as well as selected sites in the Mayo Clinic Health System, permitting interactive discussion; typically, two cases are presented each month, for a 45 minute duration.
Journal Club (Monthly): An Interactive critical discussion of peer reviewed journal articles to apply evidence based medicine principles to the clinical practice of Sleep Medicine.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The conference is designed for physicians, fellows in training, residents, mid-level providers including nurses and physician assistants, medical students, and allied staff who are interested in the field of sleep medicine.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify diagnoses in patients presenting with sleep disorders.
- Explain the diagnostic tests/images used in sleep medicine.
- Describe the management options for patients presenting with sleep disorders.
