This webinar explores the role of the civil surgeon when managing latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). In addition, it discusses the rationale behind recommending treatment and provides effective strategies for patient education through real-life case examples.

Target Audience

This series is targeted to allied health professionals, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, residents/fellows, and civil surgeons as well as advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health staff who help support civil surgeons and status adjusters.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the role of civil surgeons in LTBI management.
  • Identify the rationale for recommending LTBI treatment.
  • Recognize steps to facilitate treatment as a civil surgeon.
  • Examine patient education strategies to implement during the exam.
