Objectives:

  1. Define Post- Thoracotomy Pain Syndrome
  2. Review the risk factors for developing, and the pathophysiology of PTPS
  3. Specify a treatment strategy for a patient at risk for developing Post- Thoracotomy Pain Syndrome
  4. Define palliative rehabilitation
  5. Summarize the impact of palliative rehabilitation on quality of life in patients with advanced cancer
  6. Examine different components and the optimal timing of palliative rehabilitation to improve delivery of this service
