DESCRIPTION
These conferences inform and educate providers and allied health staff on organizational patient safety activities. Each grand rounds may feature patient cases and/or multi-disciplinary approach to reduce harm and promote patients safety. When cases are reviewed, attendees are educated as to what actions were put into place to prevent the incidence from happening again. Commitment to Safety's Five Safe Behaviors are identified in each case as relevant.

Allied Health Professional, Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician, Physician Assistant

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify proactive strategic initiatives and their implementation  
  • Describe how a collaborative approach to patient care can help reduce patient harm  

Each session may also provide it's own objectives.
