A course focusing on the optimal care strategies for cancer patients as they journey through cancer directed therapies and then subsequently live with the ramifications of those treatments. An engaging, multidisciplinary team explores how to address the myriad of questions many healthcare professionals face on how to best manage their cancer patients’ side effects and survivorship.

Target Audience

Allied Health Professional, Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician, Physician Assistant, Resident Fellow, and Social Worker.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify all care opportunities that exist to support cancer patients during their journey in the acute and long-term setting.
  • Discuss state-of-the-art guidelines in providing supportive care for cancer.
  • Recognize the interdisciplinary nature of supportive care for cancer.
  • Review appropriate pain management guidelines for cancer patients.
  • Summarize psychosocial and spiritual issues for cancer patients.
  • Identify issues impacting nutrition for cancer patients.
