Orthopedic Infectious Diseases 2023 Live (in-person)

Building upon the first Ortho-ID CME Course in 2021, this year's agenda critically examines the management challenges of bone and joint infections with highly interactive, case-based modules delivered by subject matter experts. Examples include diagnostic dilemmas of vertebral infections, PJI Therapeutics 2.0/Beyond the Basics, sacral osteomyelitis and dedicated sessions on antibiotic spacers and hand infections. Attendees will leave with up-to-date, practical information that can be applied immediately to their clinical practice.
Target Audience
This course is designed for infectious diseases specialists, trainees, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners with interest in managing patients with infections.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Interpret diagnostic criteria for native vertebral osteomyelitis.
- Formulate an appropriate treatment regimen with rifampin and common anticoagulation agents.
- Analyze the most significant publications in Ortho-ID over the last year.
- Describe the treatment approach for mycobacterial infections.
- Identify the management of infections related to fractures.
- Examine the management of vertebral infections.
- Examine key surgical considerations in the management of musculoskeletal infections.
- Review orthopedic infections from the surgical perspective.
