Oncology Nursing Pharmacology Curriculum: Biotherapy

This course provides an in-depth introduction to biotherapy as a cancer treatment modality. Learners will define biotherapy and understand its primary goals in oncology. The course explores the two main mechanisms by which biotherapy combats cancer. Learners will review key components of innate and adaptive immunity and become familiar with various types of biotherapies, including their roles and applications in clinical practice.
Target Audience
This CNE course is designed for nurses caring for patients receiving Biotherapy treatments.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define biotherapy and the goal of biotherapy
- Describe the two main mechanisms of biotherapy in treating cancer
- List different types of biotherapy
- Review Innate and Adaptive immunity
