Bio:
Jill Lovill has been passionate about supporting those with advanced illness since starting her career at the American Cancer Society in 2005 after earning her Bachelors in Psychology and Philosophy from Gonzaga University. She went on to earn her Masters in Social Work and began direct patient care at Mayo Clinic in 2010, working in hematology/oncology as well as spending 7 years in Palliative Medicine. She transitioned to bereavement work at Hospice of the Valley’s New Song Center in 2018 and currently serves as Clinical Director. She recently obtained certification in thanatology and continues to be passionate about supporting families through death and dying.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be able to:

  • Illustrate the ‘aftermath of dying.’
  • Identify the Four Tasks of Mourning
  • Examine ways Pall Med can defer complicated grief.
  • Compare available resources and interventions.
  • Describe ways to offer support.
