At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be able to:

  • Explain the physiological mechanisms behind CINV.
  • Define CINV and its significance in cancer treatment.
  • Compare and contrast the efficacy and side effects of different antiemetic medications.
  • Summarize current clinical guidelines and recommendations for CINV prevention and management.

Biography: Dr. Kokanovich
Born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. Obtained a Bachelor of Science in medicinal biochemistry from Arizona State University, while working at the Donor Network of Arizona where he procured 365 corneas for transplantation. Dr. Kokanovich then went to Grenada to scuba dive and further his education and obtained is Medical Degree from St. Georges University. During his training he grew a passion for caring for those with serious illness and at the end of life. This was further supported while he trained at Loma Linda University during his internal medicine residency and then honed his skills at the Mayo Clinic of Arizona Palliative and Hospice Fellowship.
