Summary:
Anticoagulant related nephropathy (ARN) is a relatively new clinicopathologic entity over the past decade whose prevalence and underlying pathophysiology is not well understood. During this journal club we will analyze a meta-analysis with available studies to obtain a better idea of the clinical entity.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the learner should be able to:
- Define anticoagulant related nephropathy (ARN)
- Recognize the prevalence of ARN and its possibility as a differential diagnosis for AKI
- Identify risk factors that lead to ARN
Bio:
I am a second-year categorical internal medicine resident. I went to medical school at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, Arizona.
