DESCRIPTION
The workshop series would begin with basic MSK ultrasound concepts & terminology, as well as operation and identification of anatomical structures. Progressing to the evaluation of normal MSK anatomy by body region while identifying and discussing potential pathology based on normal structures during hands-on scanning time. 

This content will be developed by PM&R sports medicine consultants in conjunction with the PM&R sports medicine fellow. The workshops will be led by PM&R sports medicine consultants and PM&R sports medicine fellows at Mayo Clinic Square Sports Medicine Center, with the target audience being licensed athletic trainers, as well as PM&R sports medicine fellows and rotating PM&R and family medicine residents. Course presentations and ultrasound protocols listing structures commonly involved in pathology to be identified during the workshop sessions will be distributed to attendees.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Describe the process used for operating an MSK ultrasound to assess the shoulder (Domain 2, Tasks 202)
• Describe common diagnosis/conditions of the shoulder seen via MSK ultrasound in sports medicine and how best to assess these conditions using evidence based practice   (Domain 2, Tasks 202, 203, 204, 205)
• Describe general shoulder anatomy commonly observed via MSK ultrasound in a sports medicine practice (Domain 2, Tasks 202)
• Explain how to interpret normal and abnormal pathology of the shoulder seen via MSK ultrasound in a sports medicine setting (Domain 2, Tasks 202, 203, 204)

Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Development (BOC AP#: P476) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc.  to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 3 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Text the session code (provided only at the session) to 507-200-3010 within 48 hours of the live presentation to record attendance.  All learners are encouraged to text attendance regardless of credit needs.  This number is only used for receiving text messages related to tracking attendance.  Additional tasks to obtain credit may be required based on the specific activity requirements and will be announced accordingly. Swiping your badge will not provide credit; that process is only applicable to meet GME requirements for Residents & Fellows.

All participants MUST complete all of the following tasks in order to get CME or BOC Credit.

1) Sign the sign-in sheet at the actual session.
2) Text the CODE announced at the session within 48 hours to (507) 200-3010.
3) Login at ce.mayo.edu and go to My Account, My Courses, Registered Courses, click Session title and START to access and complete the required Evaluation.  This should be done within a few days, or you may risk not being eligible for credit.
