DESCRIPTION
The workshop series would begin with basic MSK ultrasound concepts & terminology, as well as operation and identification of anatomical structures. Progressing to the evaluation of normal MSK anatomy by body region while identifying and discussing potential pathology based on normal structures during hands-on scanning time.
This content will be developed by PM&R sports medicine consultants in conjunction with the PM&R sports medicine fellow. The workshops will be led by PM&R sports medicine consultants and PM&R sports medicine fellows at Mayo Clinic Square Sports Medicine Center, with the target audience being licensed athletic trainers, as well as PM&R sports medicine fellows and rotating PM&R and family medicine residents. Course presentations and ultrasound protocols listing structures commonly involved in pathology to be identified during the workshop sessions will be distributed to attendees.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the process used for operating an MSK ultrasound to assess the shoulder (Domain 2, Tasks 202)
- Describe common diagnosis/conditions of the shoulder seen via MSK ultrasound in sports medicine and how best to assess these conditions using evidence based practice (Domain 2, Tasks 202, 203, 204, 205)
- Describe general shoulder anatomy commonly observed via MSK ultrasound in a sports medicine practice (Domain 2, Tasks 202)
- Explain how to interpret normal and abnormal pathology of the shoulder seen via MSK ultrasound in a sports medicine setting (Domain 2, Tasks 202, 203, 204)
