LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Summarize recent legal & regulatory changes related to opioid prescribing, opioid use disorder (OUD) screening for treatment.
- Identify current opioid prescribing metrics. Screen & identify patients with OUD and offer early intervention & treatment.
- Explain key components of the 2022 CDC opioid prescribing guidelines.
- Recognize when to prescribe naloxone, and how best to counsel patients and their families on the use of naloxone. Identify local resources for treatment of chronic pain and OUD.
