  • Discuss elements of optimal therapeutic communication and how those coincide with Mayo Clinic Values (RICH TIES), hence informing best practices.
  • Discuss how understanding dignity and unconscious bias can shape clinical encounters.
  • Demonstrate how to engage with patients who are suffering in ways that are optimally, therapeutically effective.
