Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze the existing literature to assess if the presence or absence of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) nasal carriage predicts the presence of MRSA in clinical cultures.

  • Determine the utility of MRSA nares screening in antimicrobial stewardship for infections excluding pneumonia.

  • Assess impact of MRSA nasal swab screening on empiric antibiotic treatment duration.
