Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss limitations of bleeding risk assessment tools.
- Explain why certain patients who have elevated risk of falling may benefit from anticoagulation.
- Develop a strategy for assessing fall risk when considering initiation of anticoagulation in the hospital setting for atrial fibrillation or VTE.
