Hospital medicine is a rapidly growing specialty that requires continuous learning. This program provides essential updates on diagnosing and managing complex conditions, overseeing transitions of care, optimizing perioperative management, and contributing to hospital-wide quality improvement. Participants gain insights into current trends to enhance expertise in hospital-based care.

Target Audience
This course is designed for inpatient care providers, including physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, and fellows. It is particularly relevant for those in internal medicine, family practice, and other specialties involved in the care of hospitalized patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify effective strategies for managing inpatient hypertension based on current clinical guidelines
- Analyze advancements in coronary artery disease management
- Apply updated diagnostic and treatment protocols for acute pulmonary embolism
- Evaluate recent research and emerging treatments for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Formulate a structured approach to evaluating medically unexplained symptoms in hospitalized patients
- Develop a comprehensive strategy for diagnosing and managing acute pancreatitis
- Assess optimal opioid prescribing practices for acute pain
- Review key practice-changing research papers from the past year
- Examine best practices for diagnosing and treating orthopedic infections
- Distinguish the various causes of acute liver injury in hospitalized patients

It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
