This activity occurs on the first Tuesday of each month, 7:00-8:00 a.m.
This monthly, one-hour meeting reviews recent cases for hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients. Attendees from different services bring hemorrhagic, ischemic, and acute stroke treatment cases cases for review. Presenting providers then communicate with individual patients. We frequently discuss most recent stroke literature and research. We also discuss opportunities for process improvement of the care of stroke patients at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe different treatment options for acute ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke patients.
- Define AHA/ASA and TJC stroke quality measures that are tracked and publicly reported and clinical practice guidelines for stroke.
- Review Mayo Clinic Arizona acute stroke protocols and workflows
