Esophageal disease is a rapidly developing medical area marked by significant advances in diagnosis, therapy and identification of new diseases. This CME course takes a comprehensive approach to explore these exciting advancements, including high-resolution manometry and impedance monitoring; new techniques in endoscopic detection and treatment of Barrett’s esophagus; and insights into new diseases such as eosinophilic esophagitis.
Friday Afternoon Live Endoscopy Cases: Participants will take part in interactive case discussions designed around high yield learning objectives and will observe live endoscopy cases highlighting the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.

Target Audience
This course is designed for practicing gastroenterologists, fellows and residents in gastroenterology. Thoracic surgeons, otolaryngologists and pulmonologists, as well as other healthcare professionals with an interest in esophageal diseases may benefit from this program.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe a multidisciplinary, systematic approach to the evaluation of dysphagia.
- Distinguish functional esophageal disorders from gastroesophageal reflux disease.
- Describe how to counsel patients effectively when choosing between endoscopic and minimally invasive surgical therapies for esophageal disorders.
- Classify esophageal motility disorders using high-resolution esophageal manometry and esophageal impedance planimetry.
- Apply comprehensive management strategies for patients with eosinophilic esophagitis.
- Recognize best practices in the management of patients with Barrett’s esophagus.

Group rates apply three days prior to and after the course dates, based upon space and rate availability. The resort is located 4.7 miles, or nine minutes, from the ASU Health Futures Center.
Make your reservation before the room block is filled or the cut-off date of November 6, 2025. Reservations received after this date will be accepted on a space and rate available basis. When making your reservation, identify yourself as a participant of the Mayo Clinic Esophageal Diseases Course. To avoid one night’s room/tax charge, reservations must be canceled at least 72 hours prior to scheduled arrival.
Destination fee is $30.00 per room, per day, plus tax and includes the following services and amenities:
