This Mayo Clinic and Kaiser Permanente collaboration offers a comprehensive family medicine update course designed for practicing primary care and family medicine providers. This course highlights the latest recommendations involving medical specialties important to the primary care setting that can be applied immediately into practice. For those attending in person, the use of lectures, panel, and roundtable discussions offer attendees opportunities to interact with faculty.
Target Audience
This course is designed for family physicians, general internists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses in primary care and family practice.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to apply evidence-based communication strategies to address vaccine hesitancy
- Recognize how to integrate skills for a proper hip examination and diagnosis
- Formulate a management approach for a patient with valvular heart disease
- Formulate new treatment options for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
