LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this seminar, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify the mainstream safety paradigm in Emergency Medicine - Safety-I
  2. Discuss limitations of a Safety-I paradigm in a complex clinical setting
  3. Recognize emergency medicine as a complex system
  4. Discuss strategies for improving safety in a complex system - Safety-II
  5. Identify specific actions clinicians can do to thrive amidst complexity in healthcare
