LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Differentiate the major etiologies of rapidly progressive dementia, including prion diseases and prion-like proteinopathies.
- Evaluate the diagnostic role and performance characteristics of Real-Time Quaking-Induced Conversion (RT-QuIC) compared to traditional CSF and imaging biomarkers in suspected prion disease.
- Appraise the broader applications of RT-QuIC and related seeding assays for neurodegenerative disorders beyond prion disease.
