  • Describe the innate and adaptive immune pathways in which microbial immunity overlaps with autoimmunity 
  • Describe immunologic mechanisms by which microbes contribute to autoimmunity such as cross-reactivity and barrier translocation 
  • Become comfortable with discussing the role of diet and the microbiome in inflammatory diseases with patients
