Critical Care Ground Rounds is a weekly conference held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Thursday in Joseph MN_59.

Critical Care Grand Rounds is a weekly multidisciplinary conference series of which the objective is to update and provide informative lectures of timely topics geared to enhance the critical care practice and improve patient care.  Due to the broad base of ICU care providers, these presentations are delivered by experts within Mayo Clinic from multiple specialties related to ICU care, peer-reviewed visiting professors and thought leaders in the field, and by mentored critical care medicine fellows.  

TARGET AUDIENCE
The course audience consists of consultant physicians involved in critical care practice (Anesthesia, Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, etc.), fellows, residents, pharmacists, nursing staff, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, & allied health staff.  Dissemination of these lectures will occur in real-time to Jacksonville and Scottsdale as well as to health care system campuses, and are also available for time-shifted and mobile viewing via web archived video.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Describe common institutional strategies to investigate, address safety, quality issues in critical care.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use, integration of the ABCDEF ICU Liberation Bundle in daily practice across the spectrum of critical illness.
  • Apply best practices and debate common controversies in critical, palliative care and medical ethics encountered during ICU practice.
  • Describe roles, responsibilities, best teamwork and communication practices in the interprofessional ICU team.

Each session may also provide it's own specific learning objectives.
