Dr. Marie Baldisseri completed her CCM training under the auspices of Drs. Ake Grenvik and Peter Safar at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In her long-distinguished career, she has been very involved with the dissemination of critical care information through the professional organization, the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She now serves on the Council/Board of Directors of this professional Society. During her tenure at the University of Pittsburgh, she became very interested and passionate about the issues pertaining to global health and disaster medicine. She has worked on a prn basis for the WHO and was able to travel throughout the globe, particularly focusing on ICU and critical care responses to global health disasters. Her most recent interest has been in designing protocols and algorithms for ICUs during the COVID pandemic, particularly focusing on ICU Pandemic Surge Staff plans.
