Dr. Dawn Mussallem, a doctor of osteopathic medicine and longtime vegan, discusses the benefits and challenges of adopting a vegan diet. Hosted by Tara Schmidt, a registered dietitian, the episode delves into how a plant-based diet may positively impact patients and clients, offering insights and practical tips for those considering the switch.

She is the lead dietitian for the Mayo Clinic Diet, host of the podcast On Nutrition, Medical Editor of the Nutrition & Fitness channel, and co-author of The Mayo Clinic Diet: Weight Loss Medications Edition. 
  • Karen Grothe, PhD, LP: Dr. Grothe is a psychologist and researcher at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, specializing in weight management and the psychosocial factors of eating, such as impulsivity and food addiction. 
  • Dawn Mussallem, DO: Dr. Mussallem is a Mayo Clinic general internal medicine physician and cancer survivorship specialist at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She has over 25 years of patient-centered clinical wellness experience and is nationally recognized in the fields of breast medicine, lifestyle medicine, integrative oncology, and cancer survivorship
