Title: Laboratory Testing for systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the clinical features associated with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV) and ANA-associated connective tissue diseases.
  • Describe the diagnostic methods for evaluating systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases in the clinical laboratory.
  • Demonstrate the interpretation and clinical utility of ANCA, RF, anti-CCP and ANA testing.
