Learning Objectives - Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify one or more connective tissue diseases (CTDs) that are associated with cardiac and vascular Summarize cardiac conditions that should be assessed prior to non-cardiac surgery.
- Demonstrate the steps involved in determining which patients may require further cardiac testing before proceeding to surgery.
- Calculate surgical risk of MACE utilizing the RCRI and NSQIP calculators.
- Analyze proper use of cardiac medications in the perioperative setting.
