Preoperative Evaluation for Non-Cardiac Surgery

Learning Objectives - Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Identify one or more connective tissue diseases (CTDs) that are associated with cardiac and vascular Summarize cardiac conditions that should be assessed prior to non-cardiac surgery.
2. Demonstrate the steps involved in determining which patients may require further cardiac testing before proceeding to surgery.
3. Calculate surgical risk of MACE utilizing the RCRI and NSQIP calculators.
4. Analyze proper use of cardiac medications in the perioperative setting.
