PRESENTER BIO

Michael E. Wolf, M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Public Health, Infectious Diseases, and Occupational Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Wolf earned his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Master of Science in Health Informatics from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency training in Occupational Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine where he served as Chief Resident and was an Associate Fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics. He is currently enrolled in the Advanced Finance Program at Wharton.

Prior to joining the staff at Mayo Clinic in 2019, Dr. Wolf practiced medicine in the U.S. Navy where he served in a role like that of a corporate medical director on the senior leadership team of multi-billion-dollar aerospace organizations, practiced clinical medicine, and deployed aboard aircraft carriers. He is board certified in Occupational Medicine and Aerospace Medicine and is board eligible in Clinical Informatics.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Describe the role of hyperbaric Oxygen therapy in treatment of disease and 14 "approved" treatment indications.
  • Identify oncology cases that are most appropriate for hyperbaric medicine consultation.
  • Evaluate a patient for contraindications to hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Assess response to hyperbaric oxygen therapy and screen for complications in those receiving treatment.
