DESCRIPTION
The Behavioral Neurology lecture series is designed to present fundamental knowledge and cutting edge clinical, pathological, genetics, neuroimaging, neuropsychological research, with evidence based information on neurodegenerative dementias for general neurologists, neurology subspecialists, psychiatrists, psychologists, geriatricians, internists, physicians in training, research scientists and graduate students, and other allied health staff. Experts from both MCJ and MCR will be presenting in this weekly series.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for Multidisciplinary (Physicians, mid-level health care providers, graduate students, clinical and research fellows).

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Gain the most updated and evidence based knowledge on medications, psychological intervention and alternative therapies for behavioral management in demented patients
  • Describe diagnostic accuracy of MCI, AD and other degenerative dementias (PSP, CBD, DLB) and the use of state of the art research in biomarkers and neuroimaging techniques.
  • Recognize different disease-modifying experimental pharmacological approaches targeting the pathophysiology of AD, and also the effect of Mediterranean diet and exercise have on AD risk reduction.
