DESCRIPTION
The Autopsy Conference will meet quarterly and is open to Internal Medicine Residents, Fellows & Chiefs; Internal Medicine faculty; Surgical Pathology fellows; Pathology Assistants; Pathology Faculty; visiting students/residents/fellows who are on internal medicine or pathology rotations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the possible causes of death that may not be readily apparent clinically in the patient.
- Integrate unexpected findings at autopsy during the conference by consulting with the internal medicine residents/fellows.
- Assess the medical care that was given and determine if a change could have been made with the additional information received at autopsy.
- Formulate a plan to integrate the unexpected findings in future care of patients.
