DESCRIPTION
This activity is designed for the ASU clinicians and rotating residents in order to provide and expand on appropriate knowledge and skills needed for the care of adolescents and adults at ASU Health Services. Mayo Clinic faculty and staff are invited to attend these sessions. This course covers topics in Women's Health, Primary Care, Sports Medicine, Urgent Care, and Adolescent Medicine as these are sections represented in the ASU clinic.
This course is intended primarily for Women's Health, Primary Care, Sports Medicine, Urgent Care, and Adolescent Medicine physicians and allied health staff. In attendance will be M.D., D.O., N.P. and other allied health personnel.
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe and discuss the National and Global challenges related to multiply drug resistant infections and the role of antibiotic stewardship in addressing that.
- Develop personal strategies and participate in developing institutional strategies to address proper antibiotic use.
- Strategize ways to educate patients and the public about issues related to antibiotic overuse and stewardship.
