DESCRIPTION
This activity consists of three series.  All sessions are held Videoteleconference (Zoom) unless otherwise noted in the session.

  • Wednesday AM Conference - Every Wednesday, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
    This series is made up of interesting case vignettes in pulmonary, sleep, and critical care medicine with discussions on diagnosis and management.
  • Friday AM Conference - Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Research Conference - Every Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
    The series discusses research projects by various researchers in the division with the goal of disseminating ideas, discussion, thought on the research methodology and results.  
  • Friday Noon Conference - Every Friday, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    This series features selected topics of clinical interest related to the practice of pulmonary, sleep and critical care medicine, including current literature review and updates.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This series is designed for physicians, fellows in training, residents, mid-level providers, medical students, and allied staff who are interested in the field of pulmonary, sleep and critical care medicine.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Wednesday AM and Friday Noon Conference
  • Describe common institutional strategies to investigate and address safety and quality issues raised by our community.
  • Apply best practices and debate common controversies in the practice of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine within clinic and bedside practice settings.
  • Describe roles, responsibilities, best teamwork and communication practices within the interprofessional team, and discuss implementation strategies to reinforce these concepts in daily critical care activities.
  • Demonstrate the use of common, emerging medical education concepts within the clinical learning environment.
Friday AM Research Conference
  • Recognize the basic genetic, molecular and cellular underpinnings of diseases affecting patients with pulmonary critical care and/or sleep disorders.
  • Recognize the molecular and physiologic basis for established and emerging diagnostic and therapeutic modalities used in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
  • Review ongoing basic, clinical, translational and educational research efforts within the division of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine.
  • Discuss the opportunity for inter-disciplinary and cross-specialty research interactions relevant to pulmonary, critical care and sleep disorders.

MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION
ABIM

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

*An attestation form is required for every RSS session. Forms should be filled out by the individual/s who monitored that specific session.
