DESCRIPTION
An introductory Point of Care Ultrasound course open to all specialties. The course will comprise of mini lectures to review scanning techniques (20 minutes) & hands on training (20 minutes) with skills building longitudinally.   The participants will practice scanning under the instruction and direction of an ultrasound expert.

In-Person; Once per month on the 3rd Thursday from 12:10-12:50 p.m.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Resident Fellows, and Students. 
 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Examine the role of POCUS in patient care and management in both the acute care and ambulatory setting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to obtain clinically useful images in a wide variety of clinical scenarios including, but not limited to, cardiac, pulmonary, soft tissue, and abdominal.
  • Analyze real-time POCUS images to identify normal and abnormal sonographic anatomical structures.
  • Integrate POCUS exams in patient care in the acute care and ambulatory settings to improve patient care.
