Mayo Clinic Psychiatry’s flagship course, Psychiatry Clinical Updates, is aimed at providing clinically relevant updates for the management of psychiatric problems and their comorbidities across the lifespan. This year’s topics include updates and clinical pearls on mood and disruptive behavior disorders, OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, and perinatal psychiatry, as well as evidence-based psychotherapy and emerging pharmacotherapies.

Join us on March 6, 2026 for a bonus day of content! Psychiatry in Medical Settings covers the special challenges of diagnosing and treating psychiatric and psychological problems in patients with major medical and surgical illnesses. For 2026, our Featured Topics will include Weight Management in the GLP-1 era (including novel psychiatric uses for these medications) and pre- and post-hospital management of patients with behavioral complications from intensive medical-surgical interventions. 

Target Audience

This multidisciplinary course is intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, therapists, and other clinicians who see patients with mental health conditions. Multiple specialties, including psychiatry, psychology, family medicine, neurology, and primary care, will benefit from attending this course.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Analyze treatment strategies for major depression
  • Describe evidence-based options for the treatment of bipolar disorder
  • Identify behavioral and biologic strategies for difficult-to-treat obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Identify the risks and benefits of psychiatric medications during pregnancy and lactation
  • Name individual and family-based interventions for eating disorders
