Introduction:
Dr. Almorsy graduated from Mansoura University School of Medicine in Egypt. He started training in Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment for a few years before moving to the United States to complete a research fellowship in July 2024. Dr. Almorsy will complete his fellowship training in June 2025 and will be joining the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato as an outpatient General and Addictions Psychiatrist.
Learning Objectives:
1.Describe the efficacy and role of buprenorphine in management of opioid use disorder.
2. Compare two methods of initiating buprenorphine treatment.
3.Identify available resources to assist in prescribing and managing buprenorphine.
Speaker #2: Riddick Blocker IV, M.D.
Title: Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PICT): A Case Study Approach
Introduction:
After earning dual degrees in Mandarin Chinese and Chemistry from Wofford College, he pursued his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. His passion for mental healthcare led him to the Mayo Clinic, where he completed residency training in psychiatry before advancing to a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. Currently serving as a co-Chief Fellow within the fellowship program, and as an enthusiastic participant in the Young Child Track, he brings a deep commitment to the well-being of young people.
Learning Objectives:
1.Describe the general structure of PCIT and its treatment goals.
2. Review evidence for PCIT as a therapy modality.
