Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the methodology of serum lipase and amylase testing.
  • Review pancreatic and non-pancreatic causes of elevated lipase and amylase.
  • Recognize different etiologies of in vitro elevation of lipase and amylase and when to suspect macroenzymemia.
