Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Assess the usefulness of ESWT in the treatment of spasticity in the post-stroke population.
  2. Analyze the potential benefits vs. weaknesses of ESWT as an alternative to botulinum toxin in the treatment of spasticity.
  3. Compare the efficacy of ESWT and botulinum toxin utilizing functional, spasticity grading, and range of motion measures.
  4. Review different types of steroids and doses for large joint injections.
  5. Recommend optimal corticosteroid doses for large joint injections.
  6. Identify maximum dose of steroid for specific time periods in the context of various comorbidities.
