Examine how clinical practice can change dramatically as new evidence emerges
Recognize that respiratory life support strategies have evolved from a focus on gas exchange to a focus on lung protection
Analyze how life support strategies are evolving from simple respirators to extracorporeal systems and modulation of cellular metabolism
