LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review the current recommendations for axillary staging after previous mastectomy
  • Recognize the feasibility of repeat SLNB for patients with local recurrence after prior mastectomy
  • Analyze clinical implications of positive SLNB in these patients in guiding adjuvant treatment
  • Demonstrate the mechanisms of obesity's impact on breast cancer
  • Review data evaluating bariatric surgery and breast cancer risk
  • Identify surgical options in the severely obese population
