Impact of Pharmacotherapy on Mental Health Care Disparities Among Young Children
Joshua Wy, D.O.
INTRODUCTION
Dr. Joshua Wy is a 2nd year child & adolescent psychiatry fellow. Dr. Wy did his adult residency with HCA East Florida, where he helped establish various screening protocols for their child and adolescent inpatient unit. Having been born in Manila Philippines, Dr. Wy has taken an interest in the cultural nuances of psychiatry, reflected in part by his work on this study he is presenting today. In medical school, Dr. Wy helped organize a bi-annual health fair with the Tzu-Chi foundation that provided free medical and dental screenings in the greater Phoenix area. His other clinical interests include working with families to improve their health literacy, as well as fostering open communication between parents and children. Although he considers himself semi-retired from running, Dr. Wy continues to hold his high school mile record set in 2008, at 4 minutes 18 seconds.
