Learning objectives: 
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify atypical presentations of a lateral medullary (Wallenberg) syndrome.
  • Review the relevant anatomy to localize symptoms associated with medullary infarcts.
  • Recognize emergent complications associated with medullary infarcts such as Ondine's curse.
